Cleaning Day in the Flat#

Theme: A young man cleans and organizes his cluttered home.

Leo looked around his small flat and sighed. There was too much stuff everywhere. He had to pack for a move and sort every single item in each room. Over the years, he had bought colourful merchandise at concerts, kept a small wooden souvenir from every trip, and even found a stone artifact at an old village market. In his study, he noticed bags of raw wool and other craft material that he had never touched. On his shelf, a crude handmade pot sat next to a silver kitchen utensil. He realized that only a few things were a true necessity.

Leo decided to separate his things into piles. He did not want to create extra waste or send useful items to a local landfill. Many old cardboard boxes were just broken junk. Still, he could recycle old paper and plastic bottles, and he chose to reuse strong glass jars for food storage. The real dirt had to go outside: spoiled food went into the kitchen garbage, torn papers were thrown out as regular rubbish, and broken toys were dropped into the main trash bin. In the hallway, he also picked up wind-blown litter near the front door.

Next, Leo went into the bathroom. He put on an old working outfit to protect his clothes and opened his cleaning kit. The room had a few small problems. Under the sink, a metal pipe was dripping water, and the building sewerage smelled a bit unpleasant. When he turned the water tap, water began filling the big bath tub because the drain plug was firmly stuck. He quickly pulled it free so the water could flow away.

Leo then arranged his toiletries neatly. He found an empty bottle of hair shampoo, a wet bar of body soap, and a squeeze tube of hand lotion. After throwing away the empty bottles, he poured some strong detergent into a bucket of warm water. He scrubbed the sink and the walls until everything was clean and bright.

Finally, it was time to finish the dusty floors. Leo took his wooden broom to sweep dust from every corner of the bedroom and living room. Then, he dipped his mop into the soapy bucket and washed the kitchen tiles. When the hard work was complete, his flat smelled fresh, looked tidy, and felt like home again.

利奥环顾着自己的小公寓，叹了口气。到处都是太多的东西。他必须为搬家打包，并整理每个房间里的每一样物品。这些年来，他在音乐会上买过色彩鲜艳的周边商品，每次旅行都会留一件小木制纪念品，甚至还在一个古老村落的集市上淘到过一件石制手工艺品。在书房里，他注意到几袋从未碰过的原料羊毛和其他手工艺材料。在架子上，一个粗糙的手工罐子放在一件银质厨房用具旁边。他意识到，只有很少的几样东西才是真正的必需品。

利奥决定把他的东西分堆整理。他不想制造多余的废物，也不想把有用的东西送到当地的垃圾填埋场。许多旧纸箱纯粹是破损的废旧杂物。不过，他可以回收利用旧纸张和塑料瓶，并且他选择重新利用结实的玻璃罐来存放食物。真正的脏东西必须扔到外面去：变质的食物扔进了厨房的厨余垃圾桶，碎纸片作为普通垃圾扔掉，破损的玩具则被扔进了主垃圾箱。在走廊里，他还捡起了前门附近被风吹来的零星垃圾。

接下来，利奥走进了浴室。他穿上一套旧的工作服装以保护里面的衣服，并打开了他的清洁工具箱。这个房间有几个小问题。水槽下方，一根金属水管正在滴水，大楼的排水系统闻起来有点难闻。当他拧开水龙头时，水开始注满大浴缸，因为排水塞被卡得严严实实。他赶紧把它拔出来，好让水流走。

利奥接着把洗漱用品摆放整齐。他发现了一个空的洗发水瓶，一块湿漉漉的香皂，还有一管挤压式的护手乳液。扔掉空瓶后，他把一些强效清洁剂倒进了一桶温水里。他擦洗了水槽和墙壁，直到所有东西都变得干净明亮。

最后，到了清理布满灰尘的地板的时候了。利奥拿起他的木扫帚，清扫卧室和客厅每个角落的灰尘。然后，他把拖把浸入肥皂水桶中，清洗了厨房的瓷砖。当繁重的家务完成后，他的公寓闻起来清新怡人，看起来整洁有序，又有了家的感觉。
