Ready for the Cold#

Theme: A young man chooses the right accessories to stay warm on a freezing day.

Winter had arrived in the city, and the morning air was bitterly cold. Leo stood in front of his hallway mirror, getting ready to leave for his new job. The weather report warned that strong winds would blow across the streets all day. On his bed lay a thick coat, several warm accessories, and two choices for headwear: a casual cap and a heavy wool hat.

Leo started with his heavy winter coat. The icy wind always found a way through small openings, so he took time to carefully button the front from the bottom up to his chest. Near the neck, the coat had a special metal clasp to keep the collar closed tightly. He pressed the two metal pieces together until he heard a soft click. Now, the wind could not reach his chest.

Next, Leo picked up his long wool scarf. It was bright yellow, a gift from his grandmother. He wrapped it twice around his neck and tucked the ends neatly under his coat collar. The soft fabric immediately made him feel warm and comfortable. He looked in the mirror again, but he knew his outfit was not finished yet.

He looked back at the bed. A simple cap was fine for a sunny afternoon, but it would not protect his ears today. Instead, he chose the thick winter hat. It was sturdy, with a firm brim that could shield his eyes from the freezing wind and light snow. He placed it on his head and pulled the brim down slightly to keep his forehead warm.

Finally, Leo prepared his hands. He picked up one leather glove from the table, but the second one was missing. After looking around, he saw it lying on the rug near the door. He put on each glove, picked up his bag, and opened the front door with confidence, fully protected against the winter chill.

接着，利奥拿起了他的羊毛长围巾。那是祖母送的一件礼物，亮黄色的。他将它在脖子上绕了两圈，并将两端整齐地塞入大衣领口下方。柔软的面料立刻让他感到温暖舒适。他又看了看镜子，但他知道自己的行头还没有准备完全。

他回头看向床铺。一顶普通的鸭舌帽在阳光明媚的下午戴戴还行，但今天可护不住他的耳朵。于是，他选择了那顶厚实的冬用帽子。这顶帽子很结实，带有坚挺的帽檐，可以挡住刺骨的寒风和小雪以保护他的眼睛。他将它戴在头上，并稍稍往下拉了拉帽檐，以护住额头保暖。

最后，利奥开始武装双手。他从桌上拿起了一只皮手套，但另一只却不见了。环顾四周后，他看到它正躺在门边的小地毯上。他戴好每一只手套，拿起包，自信满满地打开了前门，完全做好了抵御严冬寒气的准备。
